To manage the delivery of the Trust programmes in line with the strategic objectives, through building and maintaining effective partnerships and stakeholder management.

An independent trust established in 2014 supporting initiatives within the South African education space, through individuals supported in high school as well as university scholarships.

The Foundation operates on the basis of strong partnerships with stakeholders including education departments, donors, service providers, higher education institutions, researchers and schools which share the Foundation’s vision of skilled and empowered young people, who can contribute towards the growth and development of South Africa.

 

 

Education:

 

  • Post Graduate qualification
  • MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint (Intermediate), MIS

 

Skills/Experience Required:

 

  • 5 - 8 years’ experience in a project / programme management role
  • 5 years’ experience in and exposure to the education arena or related sectors (policy / administration / teaching)
  • Broad based knowledge of the development sector and the needs of disadvantaged communities of SA Experience in funding sector in SA
  • Knowledge of the education sector
  • Monitoring and evaluation experience

 

 

Job Description:

 To manage the delivery of the Trust programmes in line with the strategic objectives, through building and maintaining effective partnerships and stakeholder management.

 

  • Scan environment to determine trends, themes, developments in area and opportunities for the Trust
  • Feedback through internal meeting and communication channels
  • Set up and compile comprehensive contracts, indicating individual programme deliverables and special conditions if required
  • Oversee the payment process by liaising with the Finance Manager ensuring that all documentation is complete
  • Manage contracts against programme deliverables, monitor costs, budgetary control, allocation of costs per project
  • Use effective tools to assess programme performance against key deliverables
  • Undertake visits to assess and guide programme delivery and ensure quality outcomes
  • Develop Terms of Reference (TOR’s) for project evaluations for review by the Senior Programme Manager (now Director)
  • In conjunction with the CEO, review and assess proposals, shortlist and submit to the Board for approval, agree on the appointment of service providers for evaluation studies
  • Lead and the implement a stakeholder engagement plan, setting up information sharing networks, forums and meetings
  • Effectively communicate the Trust strategy at stakeholder engagement forums to develop partnership
  • Co-ordinate, consolidate and review materials required to support quarterly Trustee engagement sessions
  • Perform the necessary programme research and make recommendations to the Trust CEO on new programmes or programme modifications
  • Identify, assess and prioritise the applicable regulatory requirements that the Trust is required to comply with (e.g.  Annual BEE certificate renewal)
  • Onboard Scholars and manage the relationship with partner universities
  • Develop and identify participation events for both executives and Trustees. This is to ensure visibility of the programmes and incorporate Trustee participations
  • Generate regular performance analysis and reports for programme monitoring and decision making
