An independent trust established in 2014 supporting initiatives within the South African education space, through individuals supported in high school as well as university scholarships.

The Foundation operates on the basis of strong partnerships with stakeholders including education departments, donors, service providers, higher education institutions, researchers and schools which share the Foundation’s vision of skilled and empowered young people, who can contribute towards the growth and development of South Africa.

 

 

Education:

 

  • B Accounting (Hons)
  • MS Office: Word (Advanced), Excel (Advanced) & PowerPoint (Intermediate)

 

Skills/Experience Required:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ Line management experience
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Finance in a Management role
  • Experience with debtors and creditors management
  • Proven track record in Finance, Accounting & Auditing

 

Job Description:

 

  • To lead and manage the efficient delivery of the Trust’s core financial management services; to provide financial development services to service providers; to ensure good governance procedures are adhered to and to comply with all statutory requirements; to manage the professional delivery of the comprehensive office management function
    Provide input into the strategic direction and plans for the Trust
  • Develop and design the strategic and operational plans for work within the Trust and motivate for the allocation of resources
  • Implement and deliver operational plans for the Trust
  • Participate in defining, designing and optimising key operational processes to support the commercial capacity of the Trust
  • Manage and optimise SLAs with bpSA and others as Trust operations become more sophisticated
  • Lead the designing and optimization of internal Governance and Financial frameworks for the Trust
  • Co-ordinate, consolidate and review materials required to support   quarterly Trustee engagement sessions
  • Compile the budget for programmes, projects and operational expenditure in conjunction with the management team, Board for approval annually
  • Advise management and staff in formulation of budgets and drive delivery
  • Prepare financial statements monthly (review of expenses against budget, balance sheet, cash flow, forecasting)
  • Prepare management reports, monthly, quarterly and annually
  • Manage the cash flow and prepare cash flow forecasts, ensuring cash flow is maximized to meet expenses
  • Prepare Finance information for scheduled Trustee meetings
  • Plan and coordinate preparations for interim and annual audit     
  • Assist Auditors to ensure audit requirements are adhered to
  • Address outstanding issues from the previous report
