An exciting opportunity exists for a Senior Buyer with a global leader in security solutions.

Company description:

Financially stable organisation that offers value added products to the civil and military space.

Education:

Diploma/N6 in Mechanical or Electronics Engineering
At least 5 years’ related experience in sourcing and procurement
Experience with ERP system
At least 2 years’ experience in International Procurement.
5 years’ experience in technical environment
Previous procurement experience will be advantageous
Experience and knowledge of SAP will be advantageous
Working knowledge of shipping Incoterms and processes

Skills/Experience Required:

Knowledge and understanding of Procurement processes
Solid understanding of import and export regulations
Read and interpret technical / manufacturing drawings
Data analysis.
Solid Microsoft Office proficiency including MS Word and MS Excel
Ability to read and translate ordering information on data sheet

Job-Description:

The Senior Buyer will be responsible for placing Purchase Orders for Goods and Services required by the Company in an efficient manner at the most economical prices consistent with quality, quantity, delivery data, special services required, government regulations and past performance of External Providers, following established policies and procedures.

The Senior Buyer will be responsible for understanding and evaluating the Client requirements, identify, plan and deliver sourcing initiatives, manage External Providers to ensure optimum performance and take responsibility for meeting agreed targets including cost savings.

Analyze PR’s and review for accuracy and completion to clearly determine the requirements (Supply and Demand)
System update and maintenance (Data input and management on SAP)
Expediting of Purchase Orders and updating system delivery dates
Attend Material Review Board (MRB) meetings and execute Procurement actions as required
Negotiate price and availability of components for projects, and production purposes
Resolve / escalate External Provider issues with relevant stakeholders
Prepare Procurement Submission documents where necessary
Manage and Monitor External Provider On-Time Delivery (OTD) and On-Quality Delivery (OQD)
Identify alternative External Providers who will contribute the performance of the company and minimize the risk on not meeting customer expectations
Assist lead Auditor with external provider audits
Bi-weekly reporting on departmental statistic
